HOPE International Development Agency is helping children, young people, and their families in the Philippines create a life free from poverty.

The situation of the Philippines’ Indigenous Peoples is a little-reported tragedy. In a country that has experienced good economic growth in recent history, the ‘IPs’ are a striking exception. Their lot in life is one of great neglect, erosion of basic human rights, and severe lack of opportunity. It is not uncommon for IP families to survive solely on bananas and sweet potatoes for 8 months out of every year.

HOPE is helping the Indigenous Peoples of the Philippines by bringing education to those who need it most, and who traditionally have few opportunities for a formal education

Children of Indigenous Peoples are destined to live in servitude and poverty because they face discrimination and cannot get an education. Families, despite their best efforts and hard work, cannot afford to send their children to school.

Providing an education for the Indigenous Peoples of the Philippines is one of the best ways to create a future full of hope for an entire generation that would otherwise suffer the same fate as their parents.

Being educated offers hope and an effective way of rising above the conflict and discrimination that plagues rural areas of the Philippines.
