Thank you to everyone who joined us for {un.orphan’d}’s special film event on Sunday, November 27.

The event was packed to the brim, and the outflow of compassion and generosity was astounding. We started the evening with a quote from Margaret Mead, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has". We saw that lived out - over $14,000 was given to support AIDS orphans in Ethiopia.

Journey with us to Ethiopia’s capital city, Addis Ababa, where an estimated 1 in 5 adults are HIV-positive. The impact on children is staggering – more than 2 million children have been left behind as orphans and many find themselves caught in the same entangling cycle of poverty, the sex trade, and AIDS that took their parents from them. But there is hope. Travel with Lindsey, a UBC student, as she meets the orphans and sex workers whose lives, hopes, dreams, and opportunities are changing – with your help.
