Abbotsford Run for Water

Sunday June 1, 2008

The community of Abbotsford, British Columbia is raising funds for impoverished families in the developing world by establishing and hosting the first-ever Abbotsford Run for Water this summer.

Funds raised through the community-based event will be donated to HOPE International Development Agency and will used to help build a water system that will provide clean water to people living in the village of Amedo in southern Ethiopia.

The run is for everyone in Abbotsford to enjoy. Participants can choose from the 5km fun run, the 10km run, or the half marathon.

Community enthusiasm for the first-ever Abbotsford Run for Water is spreading throughout Abbotsford as people from all walks of life join together to have fun, be active, and bring help to the people of Amedo, Ethiopia.
