Building Livelihoods in India

Improving the lives of families who have lost hope

Mother and child.

Rural India is one of the poorest places on earth. Families, most of whom earn less than $2 a day, are barely able to survive, much less work their way out of the terrible poverty that holds them captive in a life of suffering.

Your support will ensure that India's poorest families have the opportunity to vastly improve their lives and create a better future for their children.

Your support of one family also helps the entire village as they share access to improvements such as clean water and community health care.

Building a future full of hope

You can personally help a poor family overcome hunger, sickness and terrible poverty all for a commitment of $30 CAD per month.  To help a needy family in India rebuild their life you're also helping the community where they live. Simply put, helping a family is helping a community.

Your giving is providing one family with:

  • Basic housing that meets their need for shelter and safety
  • Clean water for drinking, bathing and irrigation of small vegetable garden plots
  • Training in health care, sanitation and personal hygiene with a focus on reducing the incidence of preventable diseases and sickness
  • Education for children, enabling them to build a brighter future for themselves
  • Vocational and skills training for youth and adults, giving them the ability to earn more income to support themselves and their families
  • Agricultural training that will enable farmers to grow more crops
  • Membership in a community-based self-help group that supports savings and modest loans among families in the village
  • Improved roads
